Two years on the road!
Two years ago, we said goodbye to our families and got on a plane headed towards the Philippines and begin our fantastic journey of seeing as much of the world as we can. Looking back on it, the time went so fast, but we’ve learned so much and made many memories for a lifetime.
I remember us watching youtube videos of how people pack for this type of trip and thinking they all have this “travelled” look. They shed the layers of who they once were and are now just roaming the earth and blending into wherever they were.
There are plenty of travelers out there doing the same thing but everyone has different styles and expectations. Some do it quick and try to cover as many places as they can and others go slower savouring essence of one particular place. Some are looking for the parties and others are looking for the culture. Some are entrepreneurs others are finding themselves on their own terms.
We are lucky to have been going this long. It all feels so normal some times. What we see, eat, and speak changes often, yet we have learned to adapt pretty quick. We have refined our routines, our departures, arrivals, and everything in between.
I am most of all thankful for having the best partner I could ever have asked for. Aside from being the cutest person I know, she is responsible for so much of this trip. She is always 4 steps ahead researching and finding things to get excited about including the idea to even do this trip in the first place. I would like to think that we compliment each other and she likes my cooking but truth is she runs circles around me. I am forever grateful for these last two years and the other three before that.
This next chapter of our travel will be more about sustaining and growing while travelling. If we can keep this going and thrive in this environment, I would be very happy. The world is big place with many amazing sights, people, history, and food.
Here is a collage of us over the last two years.
